Hello Deborah, I just gave a presentation on California Native Plants in the Garden for the Anstine-Audubon Nature PReserve. One of the students is an M.D. with an interest in homeopathy as well as native plants – so I gave her and the other students your blog site address.

Deborah, You’ll be happy to know that last night for supper, Lili and I had Chuletas de Puerco con purslane y ajo. Lili was pulling “weeds” from our yard, and then we ate them! Now that the monsoons are here, we have tons of amaranth coming up, so soon we’ll be eating those greens as well. If people knew how delicious the “weeds” in their yards really are, the weed killer companies would be out of business overnight!!
I am a consultant with the International Trade Centre, and am currently working on a market report on Peruvian and South American botanicals for the North American Market. I came across your information on chia and wanted to know if you would grant me permission to use your photo of chia in my market report? howdy deborah, found your blog searching for desemboque & the seri indians. have a question for you. i was viewing the youtube of gathering chia. there is a fellow fanning the chia plants to get the seed in a bucket. he has a really unique sombrero on his head. it is a straw hat with indian basket designs. could you lead me to where one can find those to purchase? thx, tom taylor
